In 1991, Lily and Noshir Modi, a Vadodara-based couple, decided to share their love for good baked food with the city they called home. Starting with a humble team of seven the duo forayed into the market as Sterling Foods; and offered baked delicacies under the brand name Goodies. In a city where quality and taste are appreciated, Goodies’ cookies, cakes and pastries were an instant hit. Staying true to their passion for good food, the Modis won over the taste-buds of Vadodara with their delicious, high quality and wide range of baked goodies.
After nine years of Goodies’ stupendous success, the couple gave foodies of Vadodara yet another reason to rejoice. The first ever Goodies – a multi-cuisine cafeteria offering over 1600 of their best baked delicacies was established in the city. Goodies became a favourite haunt for families, friends and those seeking a quiet tête-à-tête. The authentic Parsi dishes and cold-coffee became the most sought after items of the menu.
Today, the Goodies family has grown to over 100 members. Kaizad Modi joined his parents in 2011 and has since been leading the team to newer heights of success. Having adopted the franchise model, Goodies has expanded to 8 outlets across Vadodara and serves over visits every year. Catering to varied tastes, the parent company, Sterling Foods, has been striving to become the most innovative and diversified bakery in the region by consistently adding new flavors and products.
Wherever you may be, however long it might have been, catching a whiff of your mom’s cooking or your grandmom’s recipe will instantly transport you home. There is seldom a moment when the flavours seem to alter. This is the benchmark we have strived to adhere to since the birth of Goodies.
Having served to two generations of our patrons, Goodies has become synonymous to home-food. From the time we baked our first batch of goodies till today, we have consistently maintained the recipe, taste and quality of each of the items. Watching the sons turned dads and daughters turned mothers, bite into their favorites and remark, ‘this is exactly how I remember it from my childhood’ is the biggest compliment for us. We are proud to have been the cornerstone of many celebrations across generations.
